Terms of service

These terms are a contract between you and [LEGAL NAME - person or company] (“Samuraize”, “we”), operating samuraize.ai from [STREET ADDRESS], [CITY], [POSTCODE], Türkiye. By creating an account or using the service you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy and Copyright Policy, which are part of these terms. When you sign up we ask you to tick a box confirming this, and we record which version you accepted and when. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

1. What the service is

Samuraize uses automated AI systems to summarize YouTube videos, web articles, PDFs, ebooks, slide decks and text you provide, and to produce related material from those summaries: translations, study notes, flashcards, quizzes and answers to your questions. You can keep the results in a private library and, if you choose, publish a summary to the public feed we call the Bento Box.

2. AI outputs: what they are, and what they aren’t

• Summaries can be wrong. Everything the service produces is generated by a large language model (currently Anthropic’s Claude) with no human review. Outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, or miss the point of the source. Do not rely on a factual statement in an output without checking it against the original, and never rely on one for medical, legal, financial, safety or other consequential decisions. Nothing produced by the service is advice of any kind.
• Your inputs go to our AI provider. The transcript, text or file you submit is transmitted to our AI provider in the United States to generate the output. Under our agreement with them, they do not use your content to train their models.
• Outputs are yours to use. As between you and us, and subject to the rights of whoever owns the source material (which a summary does not transfer), we assign to you whatever rights we have in the outputs generated for you. Outputs are not unique: the same source can produce the same or a similar output for someone else.
• Outputs are labelled. Summaries and other generated material are marked as AI-generated in the product and on any public page. Don’t remove that label when you share them, and don’t present an output as your own or as a human-written work where that would mislead.
• No competing models. You may not use the service or its outputs to develop, train, fine-tune or benchmark a machine-learning model, or to build a competing summarization product, and you may not extract outputs in bulk by automation.

3. What you may submit

Samuraize is a tool. It processes what you give it, on your instruction, and does not review, select or endorse that material. You are solely responsible for the content you submit and for what you do with the result. By submitting a link, a file or text you confirm that:

• you own it, hold a licence to it, or are otherwise legally permitted to have it processed for your own personal study or reference - for example a public video, an article you have lawful access to, or a document you were given;
• it was not obtained from an unauthorised source. Files from “shadow libraries” and pirate sites are not permitted (this includes, without limitation, material from Anna’s Archive, Z-Library, Library Genesis, Sci-Hub and similar). We may block, remove and report such files, and an account that submits them may be closed;
• it is not behind someone else’s paywall or login that you aren’t entitled to, and it is not unlawful, defamatory, or private to another person;
• submitting it and using the output does not break any law, contract or third party’s rights.

Third-party platforms. Video transcripts are obtained through third-party services. We are not affiliated with YouTube or any other platform, we make no promise that any particular video or page can be processed, and you remain responsible for complying with the terms of any platform whose content you submit. Our AI provider declines to reproduce certain copyrighted material (such as song lyrics); when that happens the output simply isn’t produced.

A summary is an aid to reading the original, not a replacement for it. Don’t redistribute an output as a substitute for the work it summarizes, and don’t publish anything that reproduces a substantial part of a source.

4. Your library

When you are signed in, outputs are saved to your private library, together with the extracted text of videos, articles and slide decks (so you can re-cut them and ask questions about them), your questions and the answers, and any flashcards or quizzes generated. Uploaded files themselves are not kept after processing. Nothing in your library is visible to anyone else unless you publish it. You keep whatever rights you hold in what you submit; you grant us only the limited licence needed to store it, process it with our providers, and show it back to you.

5. Publishing to the Bento Box

Publishing a summary, a tray or a comment makes it public under your nickname, and other members can read, vote on and comment on it. Only publish what you have the right to make public. By publishing you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, translate, index and share the published item, with attribution to your nickname, for as long as it stays published; unpublishing or deleting it ends that licence, apart from copies already made by others and any cached copies that expire in the ordinary course. You confirm that a published summary does not reproduce a substantial part of its source.

How we moderate. We may remove or restrict anything published, and may suspend publishing for an account, if we believe it infringes rights, breaks these terms or the law, or harms the community. We use automated checks (for example, a file name that names a pirate site blocks publishing) and act on reports from members and rights holders. When we remove or restrict your content we tell you what was affected, why (the rule or law relied on), whether the decision was automated, and how to appeal. To appeal, reply to that notice or email info@samuraize.ai within 30 days; a person will review it. To report content, use the Report button on any published page or email us.

6. Copyright

We respect the rights of authors and creators. Our Copyright Policy sets out how to send a notice if you believe something on Samuraize infringes your copyright, how the member who posted it can send a counter-notice, and how we handle both. In short: we remove or disable access promptly, we tell the member, and we restore the material if a valid counter-notice is not followed by legal action within the statutory period.

Repeat infringers. We terminate, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of members who repeatedly infringe. Three substantiated notices within twelve months, or a single case of clearly deliberate infringement, will normally result in termination.

7. Accounts

• You must be at least 13 to use the service. If you are under the age at which your country lets you agree to data processing on your own (16 in Germany, the Netherlands, Ireland and several other countries; 18 in Türkiye for some purposes), a parent or guardian must agree for you where consent is required, and analytics that depend on consent will be off for you unless they do.
• Give accurate details and keep your password safe; you are responsible for activity on your account.
• Automated or scripted use, sharing an account, and reselling outputs as a service are not allowed. Don’t try to break, overload, scrape or reverse-engineer the service, bypass limits or the human check, or use it to harm others.

8. Plans, allowances and fair use

• Every plan comes with a daily allowance of video and pages, quoted on the pricing page, that resets at midnight in your time zone, and paid plans have a weekly fair-use ceiling that resets on Monday. Nothing is charged per summary, translation or question. How much of the day’s allowance a summary uses depends on the length of the source and the cut you choose; a summary that fails uses none. Free accounts get one free summary a day once their email address is confirmed, within the weekly free allowance, and may publish a small number of summaries to the Bento Box each week, which we review; Premium and Maximum are subscriptions with larger allowances. Unused allowance does not carry over.
• One person, one allowance. The free allowance, referral bonuses (4 hours of bonus time to each of you when a friend you invited finishes their first summary) and promotional codes are per person, not per account. Creating additional accounts, using disposable email addresses, inviting yourself or accounts you control, or deleting and re-creating an account to obtain more free allowance or bonus time is not permitted; we may decline, withhold or reverse bonus time and close accounts that do so. We keep only what these checks need - one-way hashes of the email, network and device, never the values themselves - and only for as long as they are useful.
• Questions, flashcards, quizzes and the other study tools are included in every plan, subject to a daily fair-use cap far above normal human use, purely to stop abuse. Commercial use of outputs requires a paid plan.
• Bonus time from referrals, rank rewards and other gifts never expires and is used only once the day’s allowance is gone. It is a gift, has no cash value, cannot be transferred or refunded, and may be withdrawn if obtained in breach of these terms.

9. Subscriptions, renewal, cancellation and refunds

• Renewal. Paid plans are billed through Stripe monthly or yearly, in advance, and renew automatically at the price shown at checkout until you cancel. You agree to this expressly at checkout. We will email you before a price increase takes effect on your next renewal, and Stripe emails yearly subscribers before each renewal.
• How to cancel. Settings → Billing → Cancel, at any time, with no need to contact us. You keep your plan until the end of the period you have paid for and no further charges are made.
• 30-day money-back guarantee. If Samuraize is not what you expected, email us within 30 days of your first payment for a plan and we refund that payment in full, no questions asked. This is our own promise and sits on top of your statutory rights: if you are a consumer in the EU, UK or Türkiye you also have a statutory right to withdraw from a purchase of digital content within 14 days (because a plan’s allowance is available immediately, at checkout we ask for your express agreement that the service starts right away). After the 30 days, we refund the unused part of a yearly plan on request, and anything else where the law requires it or where something went wrong on our side. If we shut down a paid feature we refund the unused part of your period.
• Free trial. A member with a verified phone number may take one 7-day Premium trial per phone number. No card is taken and nothing is charged at the end: the account simply returns to the Free plan and keeps its library. Trials are for accounts that have not subscribed before, and we may refuse or end a trial that is being used to evade the limits of the Free plan.
• A promotional code grants a paid plan for a fixed number of months with no card and no subscription; when it ends the account returns to the free plan and nothing is charged.

10. Availability and liability

We aim for the service to be available and accurate but provide it “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that outputs are accurate, complete, non-infringing or fit for a particular purpose. Third-party sources and providers we depend on (YouTube, websites, transcript, hosting and AI providers) can change, rate-limit or stop without notice.

To the fullest extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive losses, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, however caused; and our total liability to you for all claims arising out of the service in any twelve-month period is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in that period and US$50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited (such as for death, personal injury, fraud or gross negligence), and nothing affects the statutory rights of consumers where they apply.

11. Indemnity

If somebody brings a claim against us because of content you submitted or published, or because of your use of the service in breach of these terms or the law, you agree to cover the losses, costs and reasonable legal fees we incur as a result. This does not apply to the extent the law of your country of residence prohibits it for consumers.

12. Ending things

You can delete your account at any time from Settings; everything tied to it is removed and any subscription is cancelled. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, with a statement of reasons where the law requires one, and may end or change the service with reasonable notice. Sections 2, 3, 6, 10, 11 and 13 survive termination.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rules of the country where you live, which continue to apply.

• Talk to us first. Before starting any formal proceeding, email info@samuraize.ai with a description of the problem and what you want; we will try to resolve it within 60 days.
• Consumers in the EU, EEA and UK may bring claims in the courts of their country of residence, and may use their national consumer-dispute bodies. (The EU’s online dispute-resolution platform closed in July 2025.)
• Consumers in Türkiye may apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committees (Tüketici Hakem Heyetleri) or consumer courts under Law No. 6502, according to the monetary limits in force.
• Users in the United States. Any dispute not resolved informally will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, conducted remotely, with the arbitrator applying these terms; either of us may instead bring an individual claim in small-claims court. You and we each waive the right to a jury trial and to participate in a class, collective or representative action. We pay all arbitration fees above the consumer filing fee. You may opt out of this arbitration provision by emailing info@samuraize.ai with the subject “Arbitration opt-out” within 30 days of first accepting these terms. If the class-action waiver is found unenforceable for a particular claim, the arbitration provision does not apply to that claim.
• Everyone else, and businesses: the exclusive forum is the courts of Istanbul (Çağlayan), Türkiye.

14. Changes to these terms

When these terms change in a way that matters - the price, how disputes work, what we do with your data - we will email signed-in members at least 15 days before the change takes effect and ask you to accept the new version the next time you sign in; if you don’t accept, you can delete your account before it applies. For minor changes we update the date above and mention it in the app. Earlier versions are available on request.

15. General

If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. You may not transfer your account or these terms; we may transfer them to a successor of the service, with notice. These terms and the policies they link to are the whole agreement between us about the service.
